I’ve thrown the phrase “then life happened” around from time to time here on the blog. And now it really has.
My dad has cancer.
It has all happened so quickly, my head is still spinning.
The first phone call seemed surreal. The doctor’s words as we sat in the tiny exam room, devastating.
He has endured so many things in his 71 years. He doesn’t deserve this diagnosis.
Tomorrow morning he goes in for surgery to remove the tumor. His cancer requires reconstruction. They estimate 10 hours between the two portions of the surgery. They said he will be under anesthesia for 24 hours total, to aid in his recovery.
This is the first step in a very long road ahead of us.
If you pray, please pray for him. Pray for the doctors. Pray for my mom. Pray that we will overcome.
I love you so much, Dooly. We got this!
xoxo,
Moosie
