Q3 in Review + Goals for Q4

Another three months in the books! The third quarter zoomed by so quickly I got whiplash. Like, for realz.

Part of me wants this year to be long gone, in the past, never look back, good riddance. But the faster and farther we get away from it, the closer we are to the unknown. I guess it’s always like that, right? Every second of every day we get closer to a future and we have no idea what it holds. We can pretend we have control by working toward our goals (hello, that’s why I’m here today!) but there’s always the chance a pesky roadblock gets thrown into the mix to trip us up.

I Need A Hobby // Hand Lettering

Hey, hey! You know what time it is? Hobby time! I swear the days are literally (well, not literally) flying by!

Today will be a very quick check in (promise!) because just like last month, I am wondering why I still do this post haha, but we only have three more months to go and I’m gonna stick with it even if I don’t have anything new to say. Ha!

So here goes it!

19 Autumn Activities & Adventures for 2019

You guys! We are just two short days away from the OFFICIAL start of fall! Although, in my little part of the world, it’s still feeling very much like summer with highs in the mid 80s this weekend. Nevertheless, autumn is mere days away and it’s time to start planning so we can make the most of it!

Last year I shared a Fall Fun List (HERE) with 31 ways to make the season memorable, and all are still very viable options for this fall if I do say so myself. But this year I’m sharing a NEW list with 19 NEW ways to make Autumn 2019 one to remember! Let’s jump in (to the pile of leaves), shall we?

Blog News

Hello my friends! I know I’ve been MIA and missed the last few scheduled posts, so I just wanted to hop on and give you an update on me and the blog and my plans for the rest of the year.

At the beginning of this year I had high hopes and lofty ambitions for what I wanted the blog to be. Two posts per week, every week, all year. And I did so well for so long. Of course, at the beginning of the year, I had NO IDEA how quickly my life would be flipped upside down when just a couple short months later my dad was diagnosed with oral cancer.

Make A Statement // Stenciling

Happy looooong holiday weekend (if you’re in the USA)!! Woo freakin’ hooooo!!! I SO needed this long weekend lol…

So, this week on the blog I was SUPPOSED to share my Dining Room/Area update. Which was SUPPOSED to involve spicing up my built in credenza by painting it with a black base coat, and then using a stencil technique to make it look like it had bone inlay. But if you read what I actually posted on Wednesday (HERE), then you’ll know I did no such thing.

Life Lately // An Update on Dad

Hello friends. I’m interrupting my previously scheduled House Tour Update post that was to coincide with my Saturday “Make A Statement” series to check in today about my life lately. The truth is I’m completely exhausted; I just got over some kind of weird sinus thing (I had fevers night and day, was it an infection??); and my dad just got released from a short stay in the hospital, and for all of those reasons I didn’t have a chance to complete the Dining Room update I was originally going to share today. And maybe all this happened for a reason, because I’m not even sure I want to do it anymore; or if I do, when exactly that will be.

But I’m not here today to talk about not doing my Dining Room Update, I’m here today to talk about my dad.

Make A Statement // Painted Furniture

Hello friends!

On Wednesday I shared my Kitchen update. I finally painted my island cabinets! Woo! Have been wanting to do this FOR. EVER. (or at least the last four years since I moved in, lol) and… I’m on the fence about it! Haha, I mean, I think I love it? Or I will learn to love it. I do like it. If you missed it, you can check it out HERE.

Home Tour Update // Kitchen

Hello hello! Another Wednesday, another blog post! As I recently shared, I’m making some design tweaks to several of the spaces in my home, and I’ll be sharing them here on the blog over the coming weeks. Last week I revealed my Entry update (you can see it HERE). And the week before I shared the updates I made to my Outdoor Spaces (you can check that one out HERE).

Today I’ll be sharing the reveal of my Kitchen update! I’m happy with it… or at least I think it will grow on me more and more. You tell me what you think. I’d love to hear! If you missed the original full Kitchen tour, you can get up to speed HERE.

Make A Statement // Wall Treatments

Happy Saturday my lovelies!

On Wednesday I revealed my Entry makeover! Did ya see it?? If you missed it, you can catch up HERE.

You can make such a huge statement with a variety of wall treatments, from faux brick (like me) to real brick, to stone (faux or real), wallpaper, molding/trim work, paneling, etc. A lot of these options are going to be fairly permanent statement solutions, but if you’re afraid of commitment, you can definitely do a temporary wallpaper instead and achieve that wow factor just the same!
