Using Mini Habits

Hello Friends, Hump Day is here yet again…how are you?

I’m hanging in there. Hope you are too.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t have anything planned in my editorial calendar for this week’s post. In fact, I had this topic scheduled for a post in late July. But I’ve decided to introduce it now and then check in later (#accountability).

A 100 Day Challenge

Hello, hello!

Today I am excited (and a little nervous #accountability) to announce my first ever 100 Day Challenge! I don’t think I’ve mentioned the concept of a 100 Day Challenge here on the blog before (or anywhere actually). I heard about it on A Beautiful Mess, first on their blog (HERE) and then on their podcast. The idea is to pick a few goals to really focus on for 100 days. They can be big projects to accomplish, or small habits to hone, or anything in between really.

Q3 in Review + Goals for Q4

Another three months in the books! The third quarter zoomed by so quickly I got whiplash. Like, for realz.

Part of me wants this year to be long gone, in the past, never look back, good riddance. But the faster and farther we get away from it, the closer we are to the unknown. I guess it’s always like that, right? Every second of every day we get closer to a future and we have no idea what it holds. We can pretend we have control by working toward our goals (hello, that’s why I’m here today!) but there’s always the chance a pesky roadblock gets thrown into the mix to trip us up.

Q2 in Review + Goals for Q3

Hello friends! Another quarter down, can you believe that? Tomorrow is already the freaking 4th of July!

If you’ve come here anticipating an account of all I’ve achieved in the last three months (as the fireworks in the featured photo may have lead you to believe), you won’t find that today, lol… however, if you’re looking to commiserate, I’m here for ya! I have only been mildly productive in achieving my Q2 goals, which I’ll run through quickly here (you can read last quarter’s full post HERE) before outlining what I want to achieve this quarter. And if you rocked all your goals like a boss, high five! Go you!

Make It A Habit // Cleaning + Organizing

I am not a natural homemaker, nor am I a perfect housekeeper. At all. Not in the least. There, I’ve said it. It’s sad, but true.

But it’s the nature of “adulting” that you have to do these things, among many other things you may not want to do, things you may not be good at, things you should do. And keeping your house clean and tidy is one of those things. Right? So since it isn’t second nature to me, I need as much help as I can get in making these chores stick.

So how do I change my colors and make these chores stick as habit? Good question… let me know if you have the answer! lol…

Planning Ahead for Projects

Good morning! And happy Saturday! It’s Memorial Day weekend here in the states. And while it’s prime time for BBQs and pool parties with family and friends, it’s also a long weekend and the perfect time to tackle some home improvement projects too!

On Wednesday, I shared my newly updated house project list (HERE). I’m all ready to go! But with the list in hand, and smack dab in the middle of a self-imposed spending freeze, I find myself struggling to figure out the logistics of not spending money while still getting my projects done… Granted, not all of the projects require an outlay of cash. But some do, and of course those are the ones I want to tackle first!

To Do: House Projects // UPDATED

One of my very first posts (HERE) when I started the blog last year was a list of house projects that I wanted to tackle. The goal was to get as many of these things done before sharing a tour of each space. As I shared each room, I updated the relevant portion of the list, crossing off what was completed, and of course, adding more things to do! Today I’d like to revisit my project list to see what I already accomplished, reevaluate what I added previously and update it for new things I want to do.

Checking In // Spending Freeze #1

At the end of 2018 I decided that one of my goals for the new year would be to implement regularly-occurring spending freezes as a way to save some extra money, and to hopefully curb frivolous purchases at the same time.

Today I’m checking in to report on the first freeze / spending period cycle of the year. The results were eye-opening.

Q1 in Review + Goals for Q2

Good morning, happy Saturday! Spring is here and today is supposed to be beautiful! Thank you universe for a nice day on a WEEKEND! Hooray! Today I wanted to take a quick look back at how I did with my Q1 goals and share my goals for Q2.

I didn’t do a dedicated post about my first quarter goals, but I had set some general ones for the year and had some timelines to hit those goals floating around in my head (and in the Notes app on my iPhone… because I don’t always trust my head, haha). But I’ll admit here that I only achieved some of those goals, so let’s lay them all out on the table right now.
