Go Boho // With Color!

Welcome to part one of my new series, Go Boho!

Today we’ll be exploring the various ways to use COLOR in your home to achieve a touch (or a lot) of bohemian charm.

Go Boho with…

Jewel Tones

It’s rare to find a bohemian design without a jewel tone in it somewhere. It can be as bold and in your face as painting an accent wall (or every wall!) in a rich purple, fuchsia, green or any other vibrant color of your liking. Or maybe you incorporate a large piece of furniture in a deep hue, like a sofa or a bookcase, or both! It can also be as simple as adding throw pillows and/or blankets in saturated tones throughout your space.

These rooms are full of saturated color, from rugs and furniture to wall color or all of the above. Soak in all this COLOR inspo!

Neutrals

At the core of the bohemian style is the use of natural materials, so using a neutral color palette makes total sense. You may be thinking neutral isn’t COLOR, but it total is! Just not as bold, obviously. Creamy whites, wood tones, rustic browns and taupes. This may sound boring and not bring a very bohemian look to mind. But neutral doesn’t have to be sad. Mixing textured neutrals adds richness and warmth to an otherwise would-be boring scheme. More on texture next week!

And neutrals don’t need to be all light and creamy, they can be dark and moody. Browns, blacks, grays… and even navy blues!

Take a look at these beautiful neutral rooms for a touch of boho inspiration!

Metallics

Bohemian surely isn’t synonymous with glam, but a touch of metallic can add the collected, gypsy vibe associated with the boho style. Subtle touches to catch your eye and gently bounce light around your space. This can be through art, accessories or, for a more bold statement, with metallic wallpaper.

Check out these photos that have a touch (or a lot) of metallic in their vibe! How about that shimmery gold wallpaper??

Or Mix It Up!

The beauty of bohemian design is that there really are no rules! So mix up the jewel tones, neutrals and metallics into a glorious setting for lounging and enjoying friends, family, good food and drinks.

Most of the photos I’m sharing today have some sort of mix, but here’s another selection of photos with two or more of these boho color tips combined! Jewel tones and neutrals, neutrals and metallics, metallics and jewel tones, or a mix of all three!

How would you incorporate color to bring boho flair into your space?

Many thanks and much love,
