This time of year can very easily become overwhelming, with the hustle and bustle of getting ready for the holidays. I have fallen into this trap in years past, and so in an effort to combat the anxiety this year, I have created a holiday fun list with the intent of making time to embrace the fun, relaxing and sometimes indulgent, traditions of the season.
As of this posting, I have already completed a couple items (and others are in progress). I am planning to do an abbreviated version of Blogmas this year (everyday during the week of Christmas), so I will report back on how I did with completing my list. But without further ado, the list!
- Have eggnog
- And hot chocolate
- And gingerbread!
- Listen to Christmas playlist – this is in progress!
- Read 3 Christmas books
- The Christmas Fix – this one is complete!
- Merrily Ever After – I’ve read the first two in this series so I have high expectations for this one
- Cross Country Christmas
- Watch at least 2 Christmas movies
- Home Alone
- Elf or Red One (or maybe both, haven’t seen either— I know, don’t come at me about Elf…)
- The Nativity Story
- See Christmas lights – I’ve enjoyed seeing lights on my new route home from work, but it’s definitely not a leisurely drive during the evening rush.
- Christmas cards – went in the mail on Monday! Hopefully they all arrive on time this year…
- Christmas concert – Mom and I enjoyed going to the Abington Choral Concert again this year
- Blogmas! – stay tuned!
- Watch vlogmas – I’ve been watching a couple of YT creators do Vlogmas
- Paper snowflakes?
- Get/wear holiday pajamas – ordered, due to arrive today!
- Light holiday candles – they’re out but not lit yet…
- Make cookies – to come closer to Christmas, this will 99% be a check
- Buy and wear Christmas shirt(s) – ordered a tee, a long sleeve and a sweatshirt from Piper and Ivy, hopefully arrive soon so I can get some use out of them this year!
Do you have a holiday fun list? I’d love to hear what things you have on it!
