Monday Musings: January Goal Check-in

Last week I shared my goals for February, and while I didn’t share my January goals I thought I would do a round up and check-in here today. Just for the record…

This is going to look like a very long list, and it is. I won’t go into detail about each one (maybe just the ones I wasn’t able to check off), but will do a little round up reflection at the end. Bolded tasks were completed!

  1. Cook 1 recipe from Weekday Weekend
  2. Read Becoming You
  3. Review system checklists – how can they be fun?
  4. Do something uncomfortable 3x
  5. Lose 4lbs – I started out on the right track and then went backwards…
  6. Journal 80% of days – this ended up being 74% so very close!
  7. Save $1500
  8. Pay off Christmas spending, set a birthday budget
  9. Start reading book on investing
  10. Plan a birthday lunch with Fran
  11. Send January birthday cards
  12. Connect with neighbors, if opportunity presents
  13. Join 2 more Patreon subscriptions
  14. Write out list of tasks for Spring cleaning list
  15. Research patio door options
  16. Clean up Dropbox
  17. Get and setup new iPhone
  18. Change email on subscription accounts
  19. Read 2-3 Lucy Score books
  20. Create and start a Winter Fun list
  21. Browse bucket lists for adventure ideas
  22. Watch 3 Knives Out movies
  23. Watch 5 episodes of Emily in Paris
  24. Create 2026 Music Jar jar
  25. Work on Spring term curriculum – I set up what I wanted to do, but didn’t really start it…
  26. Start loft declutter
  27. Create a Project Punch List plan and start it – I didn’t really make a full plan, but I did technically start it with the items I flagged for January…
  28. Use lotion on arms/hands regularly – I did this occasionally…
  29. Read 1 magazine – I started this…
  30. Try 2 nail polishes from collection
My goal tracking spreadsheet says I accomplished 87% of the goals I set for January! This is amazing and not typical. I think the fact that I took my annual birthday staycation at the end of the month really helped, as I knocked a lot of the tasks of the list that week.

Did you have goals for January?
