Revealed! Fitness Room Refresh

It should come as no surprise that I can’t let well enough alone, especially when it comes to interior design in my home. I last shared a tour of this tiny bedroom-turned-home-gym HERE back in April of 2019, and it has probably changed a couple of times since then, but today I’m sharing the current state of affairs. Because quite a bit has changed since that last tour. And with my 30-day fitness challenge underway, it’s getting used fairly frequently too…

I have a kan ban board hanging in the hallway outside of my fitness room to track my progress on my weight loss goal and any challenges I’m in the midst of or have upcoming, and it also notes my current workout split if/when I’m following it.

And the view just inside the door… even my purple Hokas match the color scheme!

Previously this room only had a boob light, but when I was getting new ceiling fans in the other two bedrooms, I decided to put a smaller version in this room. It has come in clutch when I’m on the treadmill– well worth the investment! I can probably relocate some of the freestanding fans you may spy with your little eye…

A close up of the corner where the often unused bike, Bosu, medicine ball and speed bag live.

One of the other upgrades I made was mounting my flat screen TV and having it on an arm that can angle out and down. Usually it stays positioned so I can see it from the treadmill, but it’s convenient if I want to angle it or even stash it flat against wall. Below is a wire shelf with the DVD player, DVDs and other fitness gadgets should I ever choose to use them… I am so proud of myself for checking off this update!

The only thing I still want to do in this corner yet is remove (relocate?) the 3D flowers near the ceiling. Maybe I’ll sprinkle them in and around this wall…

In a past life, this wall used to have shelving on it (visible in my 2019 fitness room tour shared above), but one day I just decided it had to go! I also moved the dresser that had my workout clothes in it (relocated to my primary closet as seen HERE). It was taking up too much precious floor space… especially with the addition of the treadmill.

In its place now is a gallery wall, and a gameboard of sorts for my health journey (courtesy of Your Path Forward as discussed in last Monday’s post HERE). I still have to do some paint touchups where the shelving left giant holes from the wall anchors. But what fun is that? We’ll save that for another time, plus I don’t think I have any more of that paint color.

And lastly, the view toward the door. A large collection of hoodies live back there… so much so that the door doesn’t stay open on its own. They need to be relocated STAT! And some too small for me jeans and jean shorts as inspiration…

Overall, I’m very happy with the current iteration of this space. Just a couple more tweaks and it will be good for a few more years (if I’m still living here at that time). But for now, the treadmill and mounted TV and the ceiling fan! Chef’s kiss!
