Monday Musings: Supplement Stack + Water Hack

Today’s just a quick musing post: my supplement stack, plus a couple ways in which I get more water in throughout the day.

First, a little backstory into my water consumption recently. I attempted a 30-day challenge in both June and July and one of the daily bonus challenges I set for myself, was to drink at least 48oz of water (starting where I’m at) which is 3 of my large insulated travel cups (with ice in it, I get 16oz per cup). For the record, I dropped off tracking both attempts after about two weeks but have still tried to keep up with my water goal.

Supplement Stack

I’m lucky in that I don’t have to take any medicine daily. I do, however, take a bunch of supplements. It’s built up over time but my current stack includes:

  • Multivitamin (without iron)
  • Oil of Oregano
  • Pro/pre/post-biotic
  • Biotin
  • Glucosamine Chondroitin
  • Magnesium
  • Vitamin D3

Water Hack

When I come downstairs in the morning, I fill my cup with 16oz of water. I have some while (if) I exercise, and while I’m getting ready. But the real hack is I take a sip with each of the pills above (the probiotic and the glucosamine are each two pills) so that’s nine sips to wash down my supplements! That ends up being a lot of my cup!

Bonus Hack

My other hack is that if I’m stopped at a red light, I take at least three sips/gulps of water. Depending how the red lights hit, I sometimes am done my first 16oz by the time I get to work!

Summer is usually easier to drink more water because it’s hot most of the days, but even still I struggle sometimes to hit my quota. I find that taking my supplements and chasing each one with water is really helpful for getting a jump start on my daily goal.
