Today is the day I’ve been working toward, and you (?) and I have been waiting for, for almost six months (with some unintentional breaks in the middle when I inhaled too much dust–now I wear a mask)! The reveal of my mom’s loft space, finally decluttered (of mostly my stuff) is here!
Before we get too far, I just want to say that this space is really just for storage, so no pretty decor pix coming up. But it definitely needed to be sorted through, and isn’t that satisfying to see? Now it’s finally in tip top shape and I can’t wait to show it off! Shall we?

After the middle of the floor had been cleared and preliminary sorting had been done, it was time to get to really going through stuff. With a mask on!

Remember I said it gets worse before it gets better…? Hello from the chaos…
A mountain of decor stuff to sort and make decisions on (this fell down at one point in the process, no one was hurt!), boxes to breakdown and recycle, items to donate, art supplies to bring home, mementos to sort and stash away.
I didn’t get any pictures (bad blogger!), but I went through the wire shelving that had my dad’s stuff on it and brought it all downstairs to go through with my mom. And I dismantled the shelving (you can spot all the pieces in the photos above) and will be bringing it down, down, down to use in the basement (soon/eventually).
Still a work in progress but definitely getting closer. My little home decor shop setup on the back wall…

Tada! So much better than when I first started sorting through everything eight months ago, don’t you think?
Not perfect, but it is meant to be used as a storage space. So I’d say it’s good!

It feels so good to have this completed. It’s been a long time coming and something I was dreading having to do. But I’m glad it’s done now. There are a lot of other spots in the house that need some love (none as bad as this, except maybe the basement); onward!
