When I scheduled this topic on my editorial calendar I was optimistic that I’d be back into all the types of art by now, delving into a new form every month. Alas, I have started persuing artistic endeavors again, just not to the extent that I was expecting. Nevertheless, I still have some thoughts, hopes and dreams to share.

Revealed! Hobby Stations
I think one of the obstacles with any hobby is the barrier to entry. How difficult is it to get started? I don’t mean on your first attempt. But if you want to sit down and do X, what is involved to actually begin? Do you have to clear off a surface? Do you have to dig the supplies out of a closet? Do you have to rack your brain as to where you even stored them?

Revealed! My 2026 Container Garden
Every year, after the long cold winter, I look forward to planting a garden and watching it bloom. Some years are better than others. Over my blogging years, I’ve documented my gardens HERE and HERE. This year is so so, so far.

My Summer Read(ing) List
When I was in school, summer reading was not something I enjoyed. Now I love it!

2025 Reading Challenge: Taylor Jenkins Reid
My first foray into reading Taylor Jenkins Reid was with much-hyped The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo back in June of 2023, followed by Malibu Rising later that year. I really liked both of them and was intrigued how a minor character from TSHOEH was a more prominent main character in Malibu Rising, a characteristic of Reid’s novels that I’d discover in several other of her stories and of which I am a fan.

I Need A Hobby // Meditation
Happy December everyone! How are we already at the end of this year? This year flew by (and admittedly dragged on at times too)! Today I’m here to share my final hobby check-in post!
That is, my final hobby post ever. I’ve decided to discontinue this series in the new year, even though I do plan and hope to reattempt the hobbies I flaked on this year (including Photography, Painting, Sewing, Bullet Journaling, and Hand Lettering), among other new ones, in 2020. The pressure and feelings of failure each month isn’t good for my mental state, lol– this was supposed to be fun after all! But I definitely did enjoy (re)discovering a love for reading, cooking and gardening.
Let’s see how I did with my hobby list this past month, shall we…?

I Need A Hobby // Crocheting
Hello hello! I’m back for another hobby check-in post! Are you bored of reading these yet?? Because I’m getting bored of writing them! Hahaha…
But for real, my intent with this hobby a month challenge was to try new things and see what I enjoyed most so that ultimately I could/would incorporate them into my daily life. If you’ve been reading along the past couple (few?) months, you’ll know that I haven’t made much progress at my attempts. Every month has been the same, and SHOCKER, this month is no different!
Only two months to go, so let’s keep it up shall we? Even if only for appearances…

I Need A Hobby // Hand Lettering
Hey, hey! You know what time it is? Hobby time! I swear the days are literally (well, not literally) flying by!
Today will be a very quick check in (promise!) because just like last month, I am wondering why I still do this post haha, but we only have three more months to go and I’m gonna stick with it even if I don’t have anything new to say. Ha!
So here goes it!

I Need A Hobby // Bullet Journaling
Happy September 1! You know what that means, right? Hobby update time!
I’m honestly wondering why I still attempt this every month because I feel like I’m a broken record, lol… but at this point, I’m keeping at it even if I don’t actually try the hobby I set out to explore.
Okay, let’s do this!
